NBA Wowy for preseason#148

Will the data for NBA Preseason be loaded into Wowy some time soon for the games from the past week? It would be great to be able to use the On-Off tool ass soon as possible.

Hey Matt, these are starting to import now and should be done within an hour or so. Also new games should automatically import as we’ve updated the scripts for the new season.

Hey Matt, it looks like where we pull data is broken for 10/3 and on. I’m going to continue to monitor to see if they fix that data feed while looking for another place to pull information.

Gotcha. It would be great to see it up and running before today’s NBA slate locks, but I understand if the issues persist.

Still looking into this and I doubt it will be back today as I’m seeing multiple issues from the api we get data from.

Hey Matt, we completely switched where we obtain data and it should all be loading now. We are continuing to monitor it, but please let us know if you see anything off.

One bug I noticed…. The Draftknigs points per minute were off for Isaiah Jackson (IND) so I looked into it. I think the issue is with blocks. Jackson had 4 blocks in the first preseason game vs Charlotte, when he scored 29 DK points, but the NBA rotations page has him at scoring only 21 points which equals the difference of 8 points, and on the Wowy side he has a block rate of 0.0. This was the first team I looked into today so I’m not sure if it is happening to everyone else but I wanted to g’ve y’all a head up.

After using the blocks “stat overlay” tool on the rotations page it appears that blocks are not showing up for players on other teams too.

I was able to find the error and fix it. It looks like blocks are being attributed to the correct player now and the example you provided is fixed. I reran the import for preseason to pick up the correct data. Let me know if you see anything else!

One other thing I just noticed. It looks like Golden State’s last preseason game (vs Denver) isn’t appearing in the Wowy On-Off data. Klay played 16 minutes in that game, but he has no preseason data/stats in Wowy. I starting double-checking the other GS players minutes (Curry, Poole, etc.) for preseason and they’re all less than they played with that game being the difference. I also remember that the two late games on Friday (DEN vs GS, SAC vs LAL) had box score issues during the game because no websites ( NBA.com, ESPN, etc) had live stats/play-by-plby/gamecasts so maybe the issue is on their end. Thanks again for getting Wowy/rotations up and running because it really helps my efficiency while researching!
